The Science Olympiad team from Montgomery Catholic’s St. Bede Campus recently enjoyed an enrichment field trip to the Dauphin Island Sea Lab. The students had the unique experience of studying the beach and marsh ecosystems first hand. They enjoyed seining for marsh organism in the Mississippi Sound and identifying the plants and animals along the beach, dunes, and maritime forest of the island. It was a truly enjoyable and memorable experience that added greatly to our students’ background knowledge and understanding of these complex ecosystems.
