In recent news at Montgomery Catholic Preparatory School’s Holy Spirit Campus: Mrs. Cool and her 3rd grade class received an $80.00 grant from PetSmart. The grant is part of the Pets in the Classroom Program and enables teachers to cover the setup fees for various types of small pets. Mrs. Cool’s class chose to purchase a 10-gallon freshwater tank complete with accessories and 7 guppies. The purpose of the program is to help teach students to be responsible pet owners. Mrs. Cool took it step further and tied the fish tank to her lesson plans to help teach her students about fresh water ecosystems.
