On October 31st you could find all the Kindergarten students at St. Bede dressed as Community Helpers. To conclude their monthly unit on Community Helpers and Safety, a special guest arrived. Inspector Detector, along with Rod Bourke’s puppets, put on a show for the Kindergarten and First Grade classes. Inspector and his puppet friends danced, sang, and spoke to the kids about being safe. Several students came up on stage and danced with Inspector Detector. After the show, Inspector Detector came out and met all of the children.
Kindergarten teacher, Mrs. Ellie Burden, said, “The children had so much fun meeting Inspector Detector. This was a perfect way to end a very fun and important unit on safety.” Inspector Detector is the spokesperson for the American Association for Children (AAC) whose focus is teaching safety and healthy lifestyles to young children. The Kiwanis Club offers financial sponsorship to help make this program possible.
