The Key Club from Montgomery Catholic Preparatory School enjoyed a beautiful Sunday afternoon in November by walking dogs at the Montgomery Humane Shelter. It was definitely a great way to relieve stress and get exercise. The eight members of Key Club who went, walked four dogs one at a time for about 30 minutes each on several different trails behind the Shelter at 1150 John Overton Dr. The dogs had a great time smelling the air and the bushes and finding sticks! The Key Club members each found a dog they fell in love with. Pictured are Kathleen Madden and Carrie Belsterling. Other members who walked dogs were Anna Nutting, Daphne Hardy, Lainie Doyle, Lucy Waite, Sarah Beth Littrell, and Katelyn Stark.
The Humane Shelter is currently seeking small groups of students or adults who can volunteer to walk dogs for a couple hours during the week or on the weekend. To volunteer, please call or email Cindy Chapman at 409-0622 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
The Montgomery Catholic Key Club is sponsored by High School faculty member Mrs. Jeanene Crenshaw, and has close to sixty members this year.
