Matthew Monson, Holy Spirit campus principal at Montgomery Catholic Preparatory School for the past two years, has resigned to take another position in administration with Montgomery Public Schools. Monson’s resignation is effective July 22.
On his time at Montgomery Catholic Monson said, “I would like to express my thanks to the entire MCPS community and Mrs. Ceasar for giving me the opportunity to come to Montgomery Catholic. In my time here, I have grown as a teacher and administrator. I am forever grateful for the memories, personal and professional relationships that have been cultivated here at Montgomery Catholic.”
Montgomery Catholic President Anne Ceasar said Monson will be missed.
“We wish Mr. Monson the best in his future endeavors and appreciate his service to Montgomery Catholic,” said Ceasar. “We are actively planning for the best leadership at Montgomery Catholic, continuing our mission and the forward momentum of our elementary program.”
Our Holy Spirit campus will be under the direction of a leadership team composed of Anne Ceasar, Laurie Gulley, Julie Wood and Mary Kelley. Mrs. Kelley will serve as assistant principal for the 2016-17 school year. We will begin an active principal search in the fall.
Monson joined the Montgomery Catholic faculty in 2012 as part of the history department at the Middle School campus. In 2013, he served as the assistant principal for the High School campus (9-12) and the Holy Spirit elementary campus (K4-6), before serving as principal at Montgomery Catholic’s Holy Spirit elementary campus.
