An In-Person Forum on How to Talk to Your Kids About Suicide
Wednesday, August 30
Gather with us for a night when our community comes together to discuss the difficult topic of suicide. The agenda is pretty simple: together, we can learn how to have a tough conversation about a tough topic. There is no right answer, there is no blueprint, but with our faith as our guide we can move forward together.
According to the National Center for School Crisis and Bereavement, death by suicide is the third leading cause of death in children age 10-14 and the second leading cause of death in children age 15-19.
Join us in hearing from Meesha Emmitt, Chairperson for the Alabama Chapter of American Foundation for Suicide Prevention; Katelyn Stearman, MA, LCMHCA, NCC, High School Counselor; and Alana Barranco, M.Ed., NCC, Middle School Counselor.
