About MCPS 2

Montgomery Catholic Preparatory School has a rich history of serving the greater Montgomery area in the heart of Alabama since 1873.  I invite you to explore our school through this website, to call our amazing staff to set up a personal visit, or to talk to one of the more than 500 families that currently call Montgomery Catholic home to discover why you should join our family.  Built around the Gospel values of Jesus Christ, families of faith have looked to Montgomery Catholic to build young people of faith, virtue, and wisdom for 150 years.

Are you a military family looking to make the most of your stay in Montgomery, Alabama?  Are you a young Catholic family searching for the right formation for your children?  Are you currently attending a public school in Montgomery and need an academic and social change for your student of any age?  Maybe you are just a mom or dad that is looking for the best school for your child.  For all these reasons and more, Montgomery Catholic is the place for you.

Personally, Montgomery Catholic is home.  My three children are fourth generation Knights, and I am so thankful to work in a place that has been part of my personal growth and faith development for decades.  When we say that Montgomery Catholic is a family, we mean it.  The best way for you to see that is to live it.  So give us a call, come by for a visit, or talk to one of the more than 750 current students that bring our school to life.

God Bless and Go Knights!

Mr. Justin Castanza – School President

School History

Founded in 1873, and the longest continuously running non-public K-12 school in the State of Alabama, Montgomery Catholic Preparatory School is a regional K3-12 college preparatory school whose Catholic mission calls us to an inclusive admission process. Serving the Catholic parishes of the Montgomery metro area in the Archdiocese of Mobile, we welcome students of all faiths to apply to our program.

We recognize that God has given each student gifts and that it is our responsibility to nurture them. We are proud to serve students of all academic skill levels and help them reach their God-given potential. In partnership with parents and teachers, we strive to develop the students’ unique talents so that they may graduate ready for a college education. At Montgomery Catholic, the adult community is committed to the success of each student and the education of the whole child.

All campuses of Montgomery Catholic Preparatory School are accredited by Cognia.

We have three distinct programs: elementary campuses at St. Bede and Holy Spirit (K3 through 6), a Middle School (7-8) and a High School (9-12).
